Xoloitzquintle, Xoloitzcuintli, or Xolo is a Mexican dog breed that has been venerated
since pre-Hispanic times, as it was believed at that time that these beautiful animals are
guardians of the spirits, guiding the souls of the deceased on the long and difficult
journey through Mictlán, the city of the dead.
Nowadays, mixed and pure breed dogs are considered spiritual guardians for the
Mexican population, and we want to honor them now and always for their role in our
lives and after life.

Marvel and Gordo, my spiritual guardians.
We believe that the magic of Mexico lies in its traditions, and preserving those traditions
is our way of ensuring our legacy as humanity.
Our Materials
Black Clay:

Oaxaca black clay is a traditional craft from San Bartolo Coyotepec, renowned for the
glossy finish and dark color of its pieces. Made with local clay, it is polished with quartz
for shine and fired in wood-fired kilns at high temperatures in low-oxygen conditions to
achieve its distinctive black hue. The process includes cleaning, shaping, drying, and
meticulous polishing before firing.

Woven Royal Palm:

Mexican palm handicrafts are made primarily from the leaves of the royal palm,
cultivated in regions like Oaxaca, and the wild palm of Guerrero. The leaves are
prepared through a process of cutting, shredding, boiling, drying, and bleaching. This
ancient tradition is characterized by its entirely handmade production, with weaving
techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Backstrap loom:

Traditionally, artisans use wool and cotton dyed with natural dyes obtained from plants,
insects, and minerals. These materials ensure the durability and beauty of the woven
pieces. Each piece tells a unique story and carries with it the essence of Oaxaca.
